Brand's Heritage

For more than four decades, the wines of St. Francis Winery & Vineyards have reflected the finest mountain and valley vineyards in Sonoma County. The winery’s founder, Joe Martin, fell in love with Sonoma Valley and established St. Francis Vineyard in 1971, planting 22 acres of Chardonnay and the first 60 acres of Merlot in Sonoma Valley. After achieving great success as a grower, Joe opened his own winery in 1979 with his business partner Lloyd Canton.

Most Coveted Old Vines Zinfadel

Today, a new generation of winemakers, Katie Madigan and Chris Louton, continues the winery’s long tradition of luscious, elegant, fruit-driven wines from Sonoma County grapes. St. Francis Winery & Vineyards farm more than 400 acres of Certified Sustainable estate vineyards in Sonoma Valley and Russian River Valley, each with varying compositions of loam, clay and volcanic soils. They also nurture long-term relationships with top Sonoma County grape growers, giving them access to some of the region's most coveted old vines Zinfandel and other varietals from acclaimed vineyards.

St. Francis Chardonnay
2015 Sonoma County

This lovely and refreshing Chardonnay has aromas of d’Anjou pear, green apple and grilled pineapple. Bright and crisp, the wine is nicely balanced with honeydew melon and juicy apple flavors along with some toasty notes on the smooth finish.

Grapes for the Sonoma County Chardonnay come from the estate vineyards in Sonoma Valley; each carefully selected vineyard contributes distinctive and individual qualities to the finished wine. French oak barrels were used to age this wine for six months.

St. Francis Claret
2014 Sonoma County

Claret is the British inspired name for an elegant red blend of classic Bordeaux varietals, in this case Merlot (50%), Malbec (30%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (20%) . This blend is juicy and expressive with layered aromas of cranberry, cherry cola and currants merging with vibrant flavors of dark red berries and spices. The creamy entry finishes smooth yet structured.

The 2014 St Francis Claret is an excellent companion to roast beef, boeuf bourguignon, grilled or roasted lamb, aged Cheddar and blue cheese.

St. Francis Cabernet Sauvignon
2014 Sonoma County

The St. Francis Winery is well known for crafting bold, fruit-forward wines. They have a fine reputation for producing wines that express the very best of Sonoma. Year in and year out, their Cabernet is notably richly textured and full of smoky dark fruit, cassis and spice. This one comes from the much-lauded 2014 vintage, a year in which the inherent qualities showcased by St. Francis can't help but be magnified and intensified.. This vintage offers classic aromas and flavors of ripe black currant; spicy tobacco and cedar are accompanied by full body and firm structure. Enjoy this with prime rib to get the very best out of this 2014
